Local educator and long-time member of the Arkansas State Teachers Association, Bonnie Baggett, was named both the Lincoln Junior High School and Bentonville Public Schools Teacher of the Year for 2011.

Ms. Baggett serves as the mathematics department chair and instructional leader for her school and is certainly considered an asset to her students, school, and community. Currently teaching 7th graders, Ms. Baggett also serves on several academic and social committees for her school, including the LJHS courtesy committee. Her students and staff know her to be someone who genuinely cares for the well-being of others, according to school district officials.

“We need more teachers like Ms. Baggett,” said ASTA Membership Director Shanna Morgason. “ASTA is privileged to count such an esteemed Arkansas educator as a member.”

ASTA would like to congratulate Ms. Baggett for her hard work and impressive achievements. ASTA is proud to represent her and other hard-working educators in the state. Congratulations Ms. Baggett!
