While everyone knows that technology has changed our world, policymakers and education experts are still debating the value of social media in the modern day classroom. In a technology driven world, the possibilities of engaging students in social media for educational purposes are endless. However, while we know teenagers are glued to their smart phones and iPads, are they committed to engaging in this technology for school? A new Associated Press-Viacom poll sheds new light on what teens are really using social media for- and you just may be surprised.

 
Seniors Going Strong in the Classroom

In a time when we continually hear about the challenges of maintaining a thriving teacher workforce, the thought of someone teaching until well past typical retirement age seems mindboggling. We are constantly bombarded with headlines and statistics about burn-out rates and shortages, but rarely do we hear success stories about educators who have truly committed their lives to helping students.

 
Arkansas Awarded $5.89 million Federal Grant

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Arkansas a $5.89 million grant to improve low achieving schools.

 
State Legislature Passes Bullying Bill

The Arkansas State Legislative passed Senate Bill 214 earlier this month, clarifying Arkansas’s antibullying policies for public school students in the wake of recent national headlines regarding bulling in schools.
