The University of Arkansas Department of Education Reform and Arkansas State University will be sponsoring a free conference, “What Works in Arkansas: Showcasing Instructional Excellence.”

The conference will be held on February 24, 2011 from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM at the ASU Jonesboro campus in the Student Union Auditorium.

The goal of the conference is to highlight successful practices currently implemented in high achieving schools across the state of Arkansas.

The conference features experts and practitioners from around the state discussing particular policies that are benefiting Arkansas schools. It is certain to be very informative for teachers interested in leveraging best practices.

Dr. John Sipple of Cornell University will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Sipple serves as the Director for the NY State Center for Rural Schools. He is the Co-Director of the Community and Regional Development Institute.

Lunch will be served to all registered attendees.
